Frequently Asked Questions
Ed Can Help was developed by cognitive-behavioral psychotherapist, Edward Sim, and has already been used by Ed as well as other doctors and mental health professionals to successfully treat thousands of people with mild to moderate anxiety, stress, PTSD, and a wide range of other mental health conditions.
You’ll find all the information you need to get started with Ed can Help in the app. Before your first session, you’ll be able to listen to Ed give step by step instructions on how to use the sessions to get the most out of them. Here’s what to expect:
- Allow yourself one hour of uninterrupted time
- Sit or lie down in a comfortable position
- During the session, you need to actively try to evoke the feelings that are causing distress through any means possible (Photographs, Social Media, Emotions, Memories etc)
- You will listen to the sound twice, for a total of 40 minutes with a break in between.
This is different for everyone. Some people feel better immediately after the first session, while others need a few more. We’ve found that most people feel significantly better after six sessions.
Once you feel ready, you can continue to use Ed can Help simply as and when you need it, or make it part of your daily routine.
You can use Ed can Help alongside your prescription medication and other forms of treatment, but make sure you check with your healthcare provider before you begin. You should not stop taking your prescribed medication unless you have been told to do so by your doctor or healthcare provider. Do not use Ed can Help while under the influence of any other drugs or alcohol.
It’s completely normal to feel like the sound is unpleasant or difficult to listen to, especially at first. Everyone reacts to the sound a little differently, and some people find it immediately relaxing while others find it irritating. Don’t worry if you don’t enjoy the sound – you’ll quickly get used to it and find it easier to listen to as you continue with your sessions.
